·       My name is Ksenia Senshina, and I’m a professional photographer based in Switzerland. I specialise in maternity, newborn, family, and portrait photography, focusing on timeless, elegant imagery that captures real emotions and meaningful connections. Photography for me is not just about creating beautiful images, but about telling stories and preserving moments that truly matter.

Do you have children?

·       Yes, I have two amazing children. Becoming a mother myself has deeply influenced the way I approach maternity and family photography. It allows me to connect with my clients on a very personal level and to photograph pregnancy with empathy, sensitivity, and understanding.

How did you feel during your first pregnancy and going into motherhood for the first time?

·    My first pregnancy was an emotional and transformative experience. It was filled with excitement, vulnerability, and a deep sense of wonder. Stepping into motherhood for the first time changed the way I see life, relationships, and time itself — and it also shaped how I photograph these precious moments for others.

·    My journey into photography grew from a strong visual and artistic passion combined with a desire to work closely with people. Over the years, I developed my style through professional training, hands-on experience, and continuous refinement of my craft. What began as a creative passion has evolved into a profession where I can create meaningful, lasting memories for families during some of the most important chapters of their lives.

Can you describe your photography style?

·    My style is natural, elegant, and emotionally driven. I focus on soft light, clean compositions, and genuine moments rather than stiff posing. Especially in maternity photography, I aim to highlight femininity, strength, and the quiet beauty of pregnancy in a timeless way.

What equipment do you use and why have you selected particularly this type of equipment?

·    I work with professional full-frame camera bodies and high-quality prime lenses. This equipment allows me to achieve beautiful depth, sharpness, and soft natural tones, even in low-light situations. Reliability and image quality are essential to ensure consistent results for my clients

How has this more emotional side of photography, such as shooting pregnancy evolved? Do you notice any changes over the last years?

·    Over the years, maternity photography has become more personal and expressive. Clients are increasingly looking for authentic images that reflect how they feel, not just how they look. I’ve noticed a shift toward more intimate, natural sessions that celebrate emotion, connection, and individuality.

Do you prefer shooting indoors or outside for maternity photoshoots?

·    Both have their own magic. Studio or indoor sessions allow for a clean, intimate atmosphere with full control over light, while outdoor shoots offer a natural, airy feeling and a beautiful connection to nature. I help my clients choose what best suits their personality and vision.

·    Internationally, maternity photography styles can vary widely depending on culture and trends. In Switzerland, I find that clients often prefer a more minimal, natural, and elegant aesthetic. There is a strong appreciation for quality, subtlety, and timeless imagery, which aligns perfectly with my photographic approach.
